Cathrin Smythe … accidentily came to know of our Order and house by the Dead Bill [i.e., obituary] of Sister Clare … about the same time one of the Religious there gave her a little Book of our H Father St Joseph … here she found how our Holy Mother St Teresa had very much advanced the honour of this glorious Saint … and thus allso became much devouted to our Holy mother. 1
