ABSTRACT

This book admirably sets out some of the scientific evidence demonstrating the relationship between many of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and mental health. Of course, mental health is explicitly represented in two key targets (3.4 and 3.5) within the health goal (and, implicitly, in the universal health coverage target (3.8)), but, as is well documented in this book, mental health is also relevant to other SDGs, with strong, bi-directional relationships between mental health and SDGs related to poverty, inequality, gender equity, education and conflict.
