ABSTRACT

Since the beginning of the profession in 1904, social workers have provided services to justice-involved individuals who face immense injustices and vulnerabilities (Springer & Roberts, 2017; Wilson, 2010). Social workers serve clients in a variety of criminal justice settings, including law enforcement, state and federal correctional facilities, city and county jails, probation and parole, courts, juvenile justice, faith- and community-based programs serving returning citizens, and/or health and behavioral health settings (Wilson, 2010).
