ABSTRACT

This chapter outlines some of the ways in which consideration of the sheer breadth and variety of the animal kingdom can be seen both to illumine and to challenge classic Christian doctrinal themes; and then turns to consider some of the questions which (non-human) animals might pose to Christian doctrine, and how Christian theologians might begin to respond.
