Sex, gender and media are broad concepts with innumerable dimensions to them. Their nexus is the power to inform ideology and norms. Media geographers explore representations and spaces of sex and gender in media in order to discuss this important intersection of power. Patriarchal understandings and representations of sex and gender have repercussions beyond the screen. This chapter examines the sexed and gendered spaces of media and the influence of those spatialities from a feminist geographic perspective.
