ABSTRACT

We, the members of IPA 1 , understand specialised lexicography as an independent science that deals with terminological analysis and dictionary making. It aims to meet the needs of specific types of users who have specific problems that arise in situation-specific uses and contexts. Consequently, we consider specialised lexicography the theory and design of specialised dictionaries meant to facilitate target users a quick and easy access to explicit linguistic data. Our works are intended to help users reach the specific type of information that will satisfy their specific needs (lexicographically relevant) required by their specific social and professional contexts.
