ABSTRACT

The Indonesian language, also called Bahasa Indonesia, lacks much of a presence on the Internet. The report made by the World Wide Web Technology Survey 1 shows that the percentage of websites using the Indonesian language is only 0.5 percent. On the other hand, the population of Indonesia is approximately 3.5 percent of the population of the world. 2 The comparison of those percentages (i.e. 0.5 percent against 3.5 percent) confirms that the Indonesian language is indeed underrepresented on the Internet.
