ABSTRACT

Coming to understand the process for making decisions about health behavior requires one to have some level of comprehension regarding the core concepts of said process. No matter the classification of training and/or the pedigree from which any health professional claims ownership, the sheer complexity and idiosyncratic nature of why an individual chooses to conduct a behavior humbles most people into appreciating a fresh perspective about human activity motivators. The discipline of health behavioral sciences is ever changing and shaping to the zeitgeist of contemporary salient constructs. It is in the best interest of all health professionals, therefore, to keep their fingers on the proverbial pulse of the discipline in order to provide the best care possible to their patients, pupils, and participants.
