ABSTRACT

Phenomenologists have long argued that emotions play a central role in framing our experience of the world. Scheler, Stein, and Levinas, for example, insist on the centrality of emotions in shaping our empathic engagement with others (Krueger 2008; Jardine 2015). For Heidegger and Sartre, moods and emotions are core structures of our being-in-the-world insofar as they disclose the significance of our worldly projects and future possibilities (Hatzimoysis 2009; Elpidorou and Freeman 2015).
