Abstract

The coopetition research field has reached a state of prosperity yet suffers from fragmentation. The aim of this chapter is subsequently to offer future research directions to address this deficiency. Departing from an overview of the theoretical roots of coopetition and of the emerging trends in the field, the core idea of the chapter is that an integration of new theoretical perspectives, in particular micro-level-oriented theories, with the roots of coopetition has major potential to advance future coopetition theory.
