ABSTRACT

Coopetition can be either a win-win or a win-lose strategy. Consequently, we argue that its success depends on its management. In this chapter, we first examine the benefits and tensions that could arise from coopetition strategies. After that, we discuss the three principles previously identified to manage efficiently coopetition: the separation, the integration and the co-management principles. We underline the key role of management to ensure the success of coopetition strategies and highlight various research directions to further explore the management of coopetition.
