ABSTRACT

This chapter deals with Bronze Age remains (mainly graves, and one metallurgical site) discovered in the Zeravshan valley. The material they contain shows undeniable relations with both the Bactria-Margiana Archaeological Complex (BMAC) (especially the Sapalli culture) and the steppe sphere, which is explained by the geographical position of this valley in between the two cultural worlds. The metallurgical data is particularly underlined due to the wealth of mineral ore resources in the area.
