ABSTRACT

If asked to characterise a business archive, many people would describe either an archivist working entirely on their own, or a state of the art service with a large budget at its disposal; both sitting firmly within the company itself administratively speaking, even if physically located remotely from the head office. However, neither is an accurate representation of business archives in general. What this chapter will explore is the wide diversity of business archive services and how they are run and organised. It will demonstrate that there is no single best practice model.
