ABSTRACT
This section aims to cover the performer’s perspective of the elite sporting process and, to that end, we have secured input from a wide range of experiences. In this chapter, we examine the perspective of athletes who have only just achieved elite status but with a fairly special twist. 326First of all, we have two brothers who have made it in the same sport; the action sport of half pipe skiing. Secondly, we have the coach who, having started work with the athletes as eight and ten year olds, has worked with them all the way to the top. Finally, their mum offers a perspective on their journey and how she and her husband have seen and shaped the process over the last nine years.
