ABSTRACT

As outlined in the authors’ bios section at the start of this book, Mike was the first full-time national coach to be appointed in GB for the sport of curling. Very much a Scottish sport, its arrival into the Olympics opened a number of new avenues, with a rapid professionalisation and change to attitudes. As a highly committed international player, Mike played a leading role in taking the sport forwards: work that continues in his current role with the British Olympic Association where he served as Chef de Mission at the recent Winter Olympics in South Korea.
