The draw of the Champions League took place Thursday, August 28, 2014. Only 334 points separated France (6th) from Russia (7th) in the UEFA index. Beyond the sporting prestige, the entire economy of French football finds itself in the risk zone, and it may suffer permanently from a counter-performance from our clubs in the Champions League and Europa League 2014/2015. How to explain that the second strongest economic power in Europe could be at the brink of a sporting “relegation”?
