Abstract

Landscape archaeology focuses on the relationship between archaeological data and its natural setting or environment, and one facet of this approach is aimed at understanding the impact of the environment on human thought, action, and interaction. Studies of our closest living relatives, primates, are important in this respect to help us contextualize the relationships between humans and their landscape.
