Abstract

The important political and economic role of Asia in the global politico-economy is well recognized, not least because of its rapidly rising education levels and economic growth (e.g., Asian Development Bank, 2011; Australian Government, 2012; Cooke, Schuler, & Varma, 2020; Huiyao, 2019; Lagarde, 2016). It is believed that Asian countries, including developing countries such as China and India, are leading the world in digitalization, innovation, and connectivity (Deloitte Insights, 2017). But what are some of the human resource challenges that may be holding these countries back in their development?
