IntroductionAn organization's success regardless of how defined (e.g., profitability, growth) is tied to the type of individuals it employs (Cappelli, 2019; Cappelli & Keller, 2014). Because the talent acquisition process influences the type of persons who apply for job openings and thus are hired, it plays a critical role in an employer's success. This chapter reviews research on talent acquisition and highlights issues meriting future investigation. The coverage in this chapter is selective. Readers interested in a more extensive treatment of research concerning talent acquisition should refer to sources cited in this chapter.
