Talent analytics is in high demand and shows no sign of abating (Angrave et al., 2016; CIPD, 2013; Levenson, 2011; Levenson, 2018; Marler & Boudreau, 2017; Mercer 2020). The fact that handbook chapters are now being written about it is one indication of its importance (Fink & Sturman, 2017; this chapter). Yet that also begs the question of what is talent analytics, how durable is the current phenomenon, and what has to happen to increase both relevance and longevity?
