ABSTRACT
Urban phenomena are not necessarily limited to actual cities, they can be situated in rural areas and perhaps even in non-places. My interest lies in the urban practices or phenomena that we partake in or can discern when leisurely strolling through the miniature city of Madurodam, a miniature theme park in The Hague, the Netherlands. Madurodam itself is an agglomeration of landmarks. The urban practices and phenomena that can be tied to this theme park are those of leisure time, tourism and flânerie.
