ABSTRACT
In a 2014 episode of the BBC television series Doctor Who, the time-travelling Doctor (Peter Capaldi) asks his companion Clara (Jenna Coleman) where she would most like to go. ‘Your choice,’ he asks, ‘Wherever. Whenever. Anywhere in time and space.’ Clara thinks for a moment. ‘There is someone that I’ve always wanted to meet . . . it’s Robin Hood,’ she responds. ‘I love that story. I’ve always loved it. Ever since I was little.’ The story of the medieval Robin Hood has been a part of her life since childhood.
