ABSTRACT
Highlights: modeling the transformation of the food–water–energy nexus requires an understanding of i) the impact of land management on current and future natural ecosystems; and ii) the socio-economic context and distribution of benefits gained from natural capital. Ecosystem services assessments may be used as a tool to inform decisions that affect this transformation.
