Abstract

Who among us will deign to ride a horse when we can instead get on a train or an airplane? But after everything great that’s been done, after everything that’s been discovered, after everything that they’ve been shown and taught, artists decidedly get down on all fours and crawl like little children – and they even demand amazement and admiration! To live whole centuries after Raphael, Velasquez, millennia after Phidias – and to draw or sculpt like this! It’s even a little bit difficult to believe!
