Abstract

Chapter 23 covers the body of myths about Aeneas, in which he travelled to Italy after the Trojan War to become associated, more or less directly, with the founding of Rome. The chapter concludes by examining the main myths of Romulus and Remus, and the earliest mythical history of Rome from the time of its founding until the death and apotheosis of Romulus.
