ABSTRACT
From 3–15 January 1966, 512 delegates and 270 observers and guests from across Africa, Asia and Latin America convened in Havana, Cuba, to discuss and debate anti-imperialist and anti-neocolonial theory, practice, and strategy. The gathering’s aim was to organise the struggle for Third World national liberation and social emancipation. It was a highpoint in the global anti-colonial and anti-imperialist movement. This chapter traces the history and motivating principles of the Tricontinental and the movement it inspired, examining its influence and impact.
