ABSTRACT

With the rapid increase in information sharing and storage, the quality of information is vitally important to our lives. The spread of low-quality information, especially false pieces of information, poses growing risks to society. Therefore, the automatic assessment of information quality has become a significant task in many fields of information technology. This chapter will provide an overview of information quality and the value of information content through a discussion of how linguistic cues contribute to the determination of information quality and strategies for the automatic assessment of information quality. We hope that the discussion in this chapter about the linguistic cues of information quality could provide future research with new insights.
