ABSTRACT
Europe has become inescapable when discussing higher education policy issues. Even though legal provisions for EU intervention in the field are extremely limited (see Vukasovic’s chapter in this volume), European developments in other areas actually touch many aspects of higher education policy and affect students and academic staff’s everyday life.
