ABSTRACT
It is a good principle to manage well that which is at your disposal. Whether that is a house, a road, an office complex, a river or a pasture, if it is broken, it has to be fixed. Be that a light bulb, an office chair, a dining room table, a fence or the riparian zone. In reality, however, there is a far greater intent to replace broken or malfunctioning light bulbs, office chairs and dining room tables than there is to repair a riparian zone. It is unfortunate that there is a much stronger inclination to repair and restore manufactured capital than there is to restore natural capital. All is not lost though.
