ABSTRACT

The focus of this chapter is on the relations between the interpretive approach and postmodern feminist work. It assess if the two might develop into interpretive feminist work with the aim to build bridges across disciplines and paradigms. The chapter elaborates on the ontological and epistemological starting points of the interpretive approach to explore the commonalities between a feminist and interpretive approach. The chapter presents two possible subjects for dialogue and collaboration in the context of discursive analysis of texts, the methodological tool of Critical Frame Analysis and the focus on category making. This is to argue that interpretive feminist research particularly adds to the knowledge production on framing and its implications for understanding inequalities.
