ABSTRACT
With reference to children’s participation in the traditional performing arts, this chapter investigates the teaching, learning and rehearsal strategies employed at Mumbul Sari Arts Studio in the village of Keramas, Gianyar regency, Bali, Indonesia. Highlighting the interrelationship of music and dance, the chapter also explores how Balinese musicking processes enable child musicians and dancers to negotiate their individual and collective practices to present successful public performances.
