ABSTRACT

It is now known that addiction to a substance results from the combination of genetic factors on one hand (the inherited vulnerability) and environmental factors on the other (frequency and modality of drug exposure, social and educational background) (Ducci 2012; Wang 2012). The same model could be applied to behavioral addictions (without substance), such as eating disorders, sex addiction, gambling disorder, video game playing, physical exercise, work addiction (workaholism) or connected media use.
