ABSTRACT
Cities have been spaces of identity politics in many ways. No doubt that in the past decade migration has been a key component of these identity politics in most cities across the world. This chapter introduces briefly the relation between migration and the city before discussing three topical dimensions of identity politics linked to migration. The first foregrounds the political agency of immigrants. The second reflects, in contrast, collective mobilizations against immigrants. The last deals with urban policies.
