ABSTRACT

The value of creative behavior is increasingly recognized in a wide range of arenas (e.g., education, business, technology) in part because of its clear ties to innovation, design, and various forms of progress. Not surprisingly, then, research on creativity has increased dramatically in the past 20 years, and much of this research deals specifically with creative thinking. There are other contributions to creative behavior, including attitude, affect, personality, and motivation, but creative thinking is required for an idea to be represented, explored, developed, shared, and implemented. Creative thinking is a vital precursor to creative behavior.
