ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on the connection between culture and discourse, an area of CDA that has been under-emphasized in research so far. The chapter presents the Cultural Approach to Critical Discourse Analysis (CCDA). CCDA is presented not only as merely a theoretical framework, but as a practical tool that can be used for decoding the cultural ‘cargo’ implied in the discourse.
