ABSTRACT

Each of the preceding chapters primarily focuses upon the aspects, issues and consequences of the application of current and emerging technologies. In some chapters the focus is specifically on the direct application of a specific technology to criminological enterprises, as is the case for the discussions on cybercrime. In other chapters, the focus is how the approach to applying new technologies by legitimate concerns such as the pharmaceutical industry has led to practices that may be unethical at best and at worst bring adverse consequences that may be classified as criminal in nature.
