ABSTRACT

The development of email and other forms of computer-mediated communications (CMCs) has completely changed the way in which we socially engage with others. Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms allow individuals to share their attitudes, opinions, and activities with others in near-real time around the clock through text, images, and video. Facebook and Instagram also allow users to check in to a location or geo-tag photos so that individuals know where they are and what they are doing at any time of day. Blogs and Tumblr allow individuals to share videos and photos of virtually every facet of our lives and interests with the larger world.
