ABSTRACT

That our bodies move through space is an undeniable reality. In sport, those movements are often disciplined and conform to a specific sport’s rules both when in competition and between competitions. The vast majority of attention outside physical cultural studies (PCS), scholarly and other, is paid to how bodies move during sporting contests. Attention is now growing on the movement of people outside competition, most especially their migration from one part of the world to another. How and why people migrate is an age-old question but sport-related migration is a relatively new phenomenon in comparison.
