ABSTRACT

After being forgotten for more than a decade (2000–2010), when issues such as cross-Strait relations and economic recession dominated domestic politics in Taiwan, anti-nuclear awareness has once more become a hot topic. In fact, the Fukushima nuclear disaster first, and the Sunflower Student Movement 1 later, have re-launched nuclear safety concerns and the controversy surrounding the idea of building a fourth nuclear facility in Taiwan, by now almost completed but not operational.
