Abstract

In Section 1, Darrin Magee provides an introduction to sustainability in Asia, providing a framework with which to understand the three pillars of sustainable development: the economic pillar, the ecological pillar, and the social pillar. Dr Magee then discusses environmental challenges, energy dependence, economic justice, social welfare, sustainable development policies, and sustainable governance as these categories apply to Asia.
