The wide usage of plastics in different sectors has led to the generation of large quantities of plastics that need to be recycled to avoid environmental damage and utilize the chemical value of the waste plastics. The objective of this entry is to present a review of pyrolysis processes for the production of polyethylene (PE) wax from waste plastics. It aims to study the reactor technology for cracking of plastic waste as well as parameters affecting the production of waxes. Recently published laboratory research in thermal and catalytic pyrolysis for the synthesis of PE wax is also summarized in this entry.
