ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the biochemistry and molecular biology of reproductive cancer, links these to cancer risks, and highlights two recent treatment options based on this science. Sections one and two supply context regarding cancer prevalence and survival as well as a synopsis of disparities in treatment and access to care. Section three provides an overview of cell biochemistry and genomics that increasingly inform the understanding of cancer risks covered in section four. Treatment applications are covered in section five. The conclusion reminds readers of the importance of patient-centered care and shared decision making.
