ABSTRACT

The food blog and blogging have become a part of the everyday experience, as a ubiquitous virtual conversation that grants instant access to thousands of recipes, cooking, and baking tips, while providing innovative ways to use ingredients and techniques. The expansion and interest in online food and cooking websites has exploded across the popular landscape, as has the ability to access the information related to this interest. Blogging has earned media commentary on its impact on lifestyle developments – in magazines, newspaper and current affairs observations, online, and print – as well as establishing solid academic scholarship, which reflects on the attached cultural and social features of the activity (see Fleitz 2010; Lupton 2017; Salvio 2012; Lofgren 2013; De Solier 2013).
