ABSTRACT
In a few short years there will be more older adults than children in the US. This age wave is profoundly impacting all facets of American life. LGBT older adults experience significant health, social, and economic disparities from their non-LGBT peers. These disparities are often exacerbated by policies that historically have at best ignored and at worst discriminated against LGBT older adults. This article will outline major federal legislation and policy related to older adults and their impacts on LGBT aging.
