ABSTRACT

Several major data collection issues have been confronted by the LGBTQIA community during the tenure of the Republican administration that was elected in November 2016. The first concerns whether LGBT people are to be counted in the U. S. 2020 Census and the American Community Survey; the second involves the counting of LGBT people in the “National Survey of Older Americans Act Participants,” and the third concerns elimination of an optional module about gender identity and sexual orientation used by 30 states.
