ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses some of the key areas that are considered the “final frontier” of the LGBTQ equality movement, including nondiscrimination ordinances, hate crimes reporting, HIV/AIDS support, addressing disparities that affect LGBTQ-serving non-profits, and continuing to develop the working relationship between the business community and the LGBTQ community. This chapter acknowledges that the momentum for federal LGBTQ rights has come to a halt in the new Republican administration, but this chapter also outlines the challenges and opportunities for the LGBTQ community moving forward. This chapter identifies some areas for the LGBTQ community and its allies to focus on currently, while detailing the roadmap for the future.
